Early Childhood Educator

Our vision is to provide childcare that reflects the warmth of a home based environment and is respectful and responsive to the individual needs of the children and their families. Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with children and supporting families in their child care needs. Applicants must also be willing to undertake training in Certificate 3 in Child Studies. Wages for Early Childhood Educators commence at $15.93 per hour.Staff are provided with program allowance and overtime rates.

Central Canberra Family Day Care is unique in that it pays staff an hourly rate, rather than the per child per hour which is the form used by many services across Australia. This means that staff are provided with a guaranteed minimum income per week once employed by the service.

Staff with Central Canberra Family Day Care are employees of the scheme and are entitled to:

• Workers Compensation and Public Liability Insurance
• Annual Leave and Leave Loading
• Sick Leave
• Special Leave
• Long Service
• Supperannuation payments
• Training

After your application has been accepted the Scheme will assist you with meeting the following Licencing requirements:

• A Current First Aid Certificate
• A Police Working with Children check ( for all members living in the house over 18 years of age)
• Written approval by landlords (if renting)
• Completion of an Induction Course (12hours)
